Our story
Clothes with a conscience and a point of view.
Nuru means “light” in Swahili, the word our founder grew up with. It guides everything we make: clarity, warmth and purpose.
Slow by design.
The fashion industry produces far more than anyone needs. We decided to make less, and to make it matter. Every Nuru piece begins with a fabric we trust and a silhouette we believe will still look right in ten years.
We work with small, family-run ateliers where we know the makers by name. We pay fairly, visit often, and share what we learn, including where we still have work to do.
